Getting to know Miss Nadina and Miss Mekaylie!

     Welcome to Jump Start Preschool!

My name is Nadina Iadimarco. I have lived in Geauga County my whole life. I attended St. Mary’s in Chardon and went on to graduate from Berkshire High School and then obtained a bachelors degree in Childhood Development from Kent State. I was a teacher and then administrator at a large local child care center but decided to be a stay at home mom when my first daughter was born. I had a ton of people asking me to watch their children, so I started an in home child care/preschool when my son came along. When my third child was born, we decided I would stay home fulltime with her. When she reached 1st grade, I was anxious to get back to working with children so I began substitute teaching for Burton Elementary. They asked me to be their permanent building sub and I have learned so much about teaching and the curriculum and developmental expectations heading into kindergarten.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for 20 years! He is a local UPS driver. We have 3 beautiful children. Mekaylie is almost 19, Nathon is 16 and Maliah is 9. We live in East Claridon.

There will be some wonderful new changes as we transition from First Step Preschool to Jump Start Preschool! The classroom will get a fun fresh makeover this summer and we plan to install a doorbell ring system. We have a web site that we are working on now. We will be looking into some type of secure and instant communication remind, blog or tool to be in touch with parents through pictures and videos as well as a monthly newsletter and several other forms of communication. I am very big on keeping parents updated and informed on all of the wonderful things happening at school.

I am thrilled to introduce my co-teacher and daughter Mekaylie Iadimarco. She attends Kent Geauga for early childhood education. She is going to work full time with me and attend online and evening classes part time. I am excited that she can bring the latest findings and recommendations to Jump Start Preschool as she continues her education. She has been working with children for 5 years and has been highly sought after by several local families for child care.  She and I will both be fully certified in CPR, First Aid, Child abuse recognition, communicable disease and several other continuing childhood education classes. She is energetic, organized, creative, fun, loving and enjoys working with children as much as I do!

We believe that every child should be cared for by name and need. They are each an individual and we will nurture and teach them as so. We strive to focus on teaching through play, through hands in experiences, social opportunities, creative opportunities, offering sensory activities that promote cognitive skills, fine and large motor skill experiences, positive interactions and we encourage communication between the teachers, parents and children. We will be working closely with the curriculum and the local schools to ensure all of our pre-k students are ready for kindergarten. 

We are open to parent involvement but do not require it. Some rules have changed with the state recently that require all parents to be background checked and fingerprinted in order to volunteer in the classroom. We understand this may make it more difficult for parents to volunteer but we are certainly open to all parent involvement.  

I am well known for my love of kids and my ability to teach in a loving , nurturing and positive way. My 28 plus years experience with children have me well prepared for the adventures we will have at Jump Start Preschool! I look forward to meeting you all at an upcoming Open House (date to be determined).
