Dates To Remember:
January 7: School Resumes! Happy New Year!! We missed you all!
January 1-15th: Jump Start Family Registration for 2020-2021. We will open registration to the public on January 15th (See our website to register)
January 16th: Pajama Day!
What We are Working On: We will learn all about winter, cold weather, dressing for winter, polar animals, winter sports, have a winter sensory bin, work with snow and ice and more! Winter assessments continue as we prepare for April conferences. Reminder, each child is self paced. We work on skills based on each individual age, need, ability and interest level.
*Letters For December: We have made it through the stick letters and will begin curved letters C,O,Q,U Please keep practicing all Letters covered this year: A,I,T,N,L,M,H,E,W,Y,F,K,X,Z,V Pre-K will continue to work on lower case letters as well. All children are working on writing their names daily. Other skills like cut, glue, rhyming, matching, patterns, opposites and all of our daily circle time, daily journals, reading , social skill opportunities and so many activities! We do a lot of learn through play and child led open invitation opportunities.
*Sight Words: We are working daily on color words and numbers, our word wall of sight words: Keep practicing sight word flashcards at home! Point out the words when you read to them. Post them on a word wall in their bedroom, playroom or anywhere. They are getting them! Repeated exposure to seeing and hearing these words is so important! There is no pressure with sight words. It is just good for them to be exposed to seeing them. It will help a great deal when they reach kindergarten. Our new January words: Will, Up, Am, But, Are

*Indoor large motor play. We are watching for a warmer snowy day to get out in our backyard to have a sled riding and fun snow day!!! You will have advance notice to send proper snow gear.
