What We Are Working On:
We are just so upset about this closure. We hope you all like your make-up packets. We tried to pack them with some work and some fun. This month is all about art, artists, literature and all things Spring! We work on skills based on each individual age, need, ability and interest level. All activities are differentiated.
*We finished out our alphabet for the year! Please keep practicing reading and writing ALL upper and lower case letters! All children are working on writing their names daily. Pre-K is doing GREAT on last names. PLEASE keep working at home. Teach them a song to a familiar tune to be able to spell their name from memory. Other skills like address and phone number, cut, glue, rhyming, matching, patterns, opposites, reading , days, months, colors, counting will come home. Please do as much or little as you want!. Be creative and let them LEARN THROUGH PLAY while they are off!! Check our website and facebook for video activities!
*Sight Words: Keep practicing sight word flashcards at home! Point out the words (with a finger, pointer or flashlight!) when you read. Post them on a word wall in their bedroom, playroom or anywhere. Repeated exposure to seeing and hearing these words is so important! There is no pressure with sight words. It is just good for them to be exposed to seeing them. It will help a great deal when they reach kindergarten. Follow your child’s lead! No new sight words this year. Just REVIEW!!
